BAKERSFIELD, CA - Renegade Athletics is proud to announce the second week of Athletes of the Week, this week’s (3/22-3/27):

 

Talia Nielson (Freshman) Softball 

Talia pitched 20 innings and had 28 strikeouts along with throwing a no hitter against Cuesta in a 8-0 win in which she only allowed 2 base runners. One on a walk and one reached on an error. She had 7 strikeouts in the game. She also hit .500 as she went 3-6 at the plate. As of this past weekend, Nielson is ranked #1 in the CCCAA with a total of 187 strikeouts. 

 

Xabi Iparragurrie (Sophomore) Baseball

Xabi was 8 for 13 at bat with 5 doubles and 5 RBI's last week. He assisted the team in earning their first back to back wins over LA Valley since Feburary 25th of this season. Iparraguirre leads the team in batting average with a .365. 

 

Softball is currently 21-6 on the season and will play today against Citrus College at 2:30 at home and also host a double header on Thursday at 3PM and 5PM against Oxnard and Folsom Lake. Baseball will start their three game series against Antelope Valley today away and host Maurders on Thursday at 2:30PM.
