Bakersfield, CA - Renegade Athletics is saddened to hear of the passing of former Renegade basketball student athlete, Mike Young this last week in Del City, Oklahoma. Mike was gunned down trying to make peace with another family member after his little brother was invlolved in a school fight. To read details on the story click this link. 

Mike was on the BC basketball team from the spring of 2011 until the completion on his sophomore season in 2013-14.

"Mike will always be remembered for his big smile and being a great teammate. He will be missed greatly", commented Renegade Head Men's Basketball Coach Rich Hughes. 

"The people of Del City, Oklahoma should be very proud of the man Michael was. As a man of faith, I know God blessed Michael with the gift to protect people. It was part of what made him special. I'm very grateful and thankful that I got to Coach him", commented Renegade Assistant Men's Basketball Coach Aaron Chavez.
