Casey Goodman

Casey has been leading Renegade Softball since 2017.

In 2019 she guided the softball team to a second straight WSC South Championship and was named the 2019 WSC South Coach of the Year for the second straight season with a perfect 16-0 record in conference. The team featured two-time WSC Pitcher of the Year, Kylee Fahy and WSC Player of the Year Natilee Parrish, both were CCCAA All-State selections as well. Four players were named to the WSC North team - Alex Venegas, Alexis Lopez, Alantis Rede and Savannah Gonzalez. Three players were named to the WSC North Honorable Mention team Ashley Hernandez, Aviana Campos and Lysette Castro. 

In her first year as the BC head softball coach the team set three school records - best overall record (33-11), conference record (13-1) and most wins in a season (33) in addition to winning the 2018 WSC North Conference Championship.  She was named 2018 CCCAA South Coach of the Year and 2018 NFCA South Coach of the Year. Her staff was named the 2018 WSC North Coaching Staff of the Year. The team featured four first-team All-Conference players; Aryka Chavez, Alexis Solis, Jordynn Jimenez, Ashley Hernandez and four second-team All-Conference players; McKenna Valencia, Saidee Banuelos, Monica Alvarez, Yesenia Saldana. In addition, Chavez was named  All-Southern California player and Kylee Fahy was named to the  All-State team and was the 2018 WSC North Pitcher of the Year.

Prior to BC, Casey was the assistant/associate head coach at Lamar State College - Port Arthur from 20011-2017. From 2007-2009 she was the head coach at Louisiana State University, Alexandria and from 2005-2007 she was the Assistant  Coach at Louisiana State University Eunice.

She played collegiate softball at the University of Louisiana at Monroe where as a catcher she earned All-Southland Conference honors four times and All-Region honors twice. In addition to being named to the Southland Conference’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Team, she was ULM’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2004. In 2018, She was  inducted into the ULM Athletics Hall of Fame. After college, she played professionally in Langhirano, Italy where she led the league in batting average.

She holds a B.S. from the University of Louisiana at Monroe (2004) and M.S. from Western Kentucky University (2015).

Casey resides in Bakersfield and enjoys working in BC Athletics because she gets the opportunity to work with student athletes that come from diverse backgrounds who want to represent Bakersfield College Athletics.  She enjoys the time spent on the field helping student-athletes become better softball players, while helping them navigate the college experience so they can transfer to a four-year institution.
