Verrell joined the BC Football coaching staff in 2020 as the special teams coordinator.

Prior to BC, from 2017-2019 he served as the special teams coordinator for Shafter High School.

Verrell started his college playing career as a long-snapper at BC from 2012-14. His freshman year he was part of the 2012 State Championship team and his sophomore year he was named the 2013-14 Bakersfield College Scholar Athlete of the Year. After BC, he continued his career at Fresno State from 2014-16. Originally a walk-on, he earned a full scholarship his senior year. His first career start as a Bulldog was at the University of Nebraska's Memorial Stadium in front of over 90,000 fans.

He holds an A.A. in Liberal Studies from Bakersfield College (2014), a B.S. in Industrial Technology from Fresno State (2016) and an M.S in Education from Concordia University (2018).

Verrell resides in Bakersfield with his wife, Kayla.
