No. 6 Warriors Sweep Past Bakersfield in Third Game to Take the Series

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - In the final game of a series against Bakersfield College, the Warriors came back to score runs in the eighth and ninth inning to come away undefeated. The third contest ended 2-1 after Kenneth Haus struck out to the left to not give any runs in for the Renegades in the final inning.  

The first five innings were scoreless with only three hits by the Renegades but were first on the board at the bottom of the sixth inning. With runners on third and first, Luke Lewis made it home when Tyson Brewer hit a single.

Unsuccessful in the seventh inning, the Warriors tied the game Darren Sylvester hit a leadoff triple, Trevor Casanova went up to bat with two outs and also hit a triple that brought in Sylvester. The renegades got two hits in the eighth but ended it with no runs.

Entering the ninth inning still tied, Noah Barba was first to bat and hit a double to right field. Taylor Rashi hit a ground out that allowed Barba to advance to third. Barba then scored the run of a single by Hunter Lewis. Haus then struck out the Renegade batters to end the game in favor of the Warriors.

Lewis and Casanova each earned an RBI with Ricky Ramos and Haus both recording five strikeouts for the Warriors.

"I'm really proud of how the team played today," shared Coach Nate Fernley. "They really played hard all weekend."

Ranked 6th in Southern California, the Warriors are 8-0 in the season. The Warriors travel to Santa Barbara on Wednesday before returning to face the Vaqueros at home on the Friday.
