Citrus Drops Heartbreaker to Bakersfield

Citrus College took on one of the top teams in the conference and took the first lead but fell victim to a comeback victory from Bakersfield College Tuesday afternoon.
The Owls drop to 17-15 overall and 7-6 in Western State Conference, while the Renegades improve to 17-11 on the year and 9-2 in conference.
Despite out-hitting the Renegades 11-to-9, the Owls could only put one run on the board as Samantha Meyndert scored on a passed ball with two outs.
Bakersfield rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh and grabbed the walk-off victory with a run in the 10th after the international tie-breaker rule was put into play.
The Owls hope to shake it off as they take another top team in the conference in the College of the Canyons on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
