After a thrilling overtime victory the last time Citrus College took on Bakersfield College, the Owls didn't need any extra time Saturday and grabbed a 48-38 dominant win.

The Owls improve to 8-15 overall and 4-5 in conference with the series sweep over the Renegades, who slip to 8-16 on the year and 2-3 in WSC-South action.

Reanne Reola led the Owls with 18 points on the night and had four steals. Giselle Garcia-Nunez followed with 11 points and was one rebound shy of a double-double. Joceline Escamilla led Citrus' rebounding efforts with 12 boards.

The Owls got on the board first after Escamilla banked in a basket and jumped out to a 10-0 lead. Garcia-Nunez, Neesie Gonzalez, Reola and Felicity Mendoza all got in on the scoring action in the run to put the visitors up early.

Citrus started to run away with the game in the third quarter, taking a 17-point lead off a Garcia-Nunez layup, but the Renegades never backed down.

Bakersfield tried to chip away at the lead, but Citrus got some stops in the fourth quarter and took care of business at the charity stripe to grab the 48-38 victory.

The Owls are back in action next Saturday, hosting the College of the Canyons at 3 p.m.
