Citrus College took on the top team in the Western State-East Conference, but couldn't hold off No. 12-ranked Bakersfield College in a 4-0 loss Thursday.

The Owls drop to 13-23 on the year, 5-6 in conference, while the Renegades improve to 32-6 overall and remain undefeated in WSC-East action.

Citrus held the Renegades scoreless and hitless for the first two innings, but the visitors broke through in the third with three runs on four hits and an error. Bakersfield tacked on another run in the sixth and kept the Owls off the board to secure the win.

Patty Rodriguez and Ericka Pineda led the Owl offensive efforts with two hits on the day apiece, while Tatiana Figueroa and Isabella Ramirez also had hits.

The Owls turn right around for their final home game of the season on Friday at noon against Southwestern.
