Women's soccer victorious again!

The Santa Monica College Corsairs Women's Soccer team defeated Bakersfield College 1-0 in a Western State Conference match-up at Bakersfield last week. The match was competitive early on with both teams battling to gain possession of the ball and find good opportunities in front of goal. Both teams logged 2 shots in the first half and Bakersfield dominated with 5 corner kicks to Santa Monica's 1. 

 
The match was tied 0-0 at the half.  In the second half SMC began to find more opportunities to build up and keep possession creating 9 shots in the half to the Renegade Knights 2. In the 86th minute Ceirra Little crossed a ball into the box with Dayli Ramos running onto it and Bakersfield gave up an own goal due to the pressure. 
 
SMC Goal Keeper Taylor Brown recorded her 9th shut out of the year in goal. 
 
SMC is now 8-3-2 and in second place in the Western State Conference South Division.  The Corsairs will return to WSC action on Tuesday, October 22nd at 4pm at LA Valley College.
