Tiger Baseball Loses Two in a Row

The Reedley College baseball team fell to 2-4 overall after weekend losses to Golden West College 4-2 on Friday and an 8-4 loss to Bakersfield College Saturday in the Sequoias Tournament.

Cooper Morrison and Gabe Grijalva both had two hits for Reedley in the loss to Golden West. Morrison drove in a run with a double and a triple while Grijalva added a single and a double.

Brady Barcellos was the losing pitcher, allowing two runs in five and a third innings. Winning pitcher Troy Bethel blanked the Tigers, allowing five hits in seven innings. Luke Mattson struck out the side in the ninth to record the save.

On Saturday, the Tigers had the potential tying run at the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning before Grijalva hit into a fielders choice to end the game.

Blake Hernandez, Hans Brown, Morrison and Grijalva all recorded two hits for the Tigers.

Reedley is back in action at 3 pm Tuesday, hosting Santa Barbara City College.
