Citrus College struck first but couldn't hold off Bakersfield College, falling 2-1 in its final home game of the season.
The Owls slip to 2-14-2 overall, 0-5-2 in the Western State Conferene-South. The Renegades improve to 10-5-4 on the year, 6-0-1 in conference.
Jose Andres Ortega got the Owls on the board in blazing fashion as he found the back of the net just 35 seconds into the contest. He dribbled through three defenders before setting himself up on his right foot and firing his shot past the diving goalkeeper.
Bakersfield equalized right before halftime and then took the lead in the 60th minute and wouldn't let go to grab the 2-1 victory.
The Owls close out the season on the road, taking on Glendale College on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
