SANTA ANA, Calif. - The Santa Ana Women's Basketball team will host its annual tournament on Thursday, December 1st through Saturday, December 3rd. This year's bracket includes the following teams - Bakersfield, Mira Costa, Pasadena City, Porterville, Riverside City, San Diego City, San Diego Mesa and Santa Ana.
The Dons enter the tournament with a record of 3-3 after defeating Imperial Valley 76-61 in their last game on November 19th.
Through six games, freshman guard Selena Hernandez leads Santa Ana in both scoring and rebounding at 18 ppg and 7.8 rpg. Sophomore guard Sophia Escalante (11.7 ppg/4.2 rpg/2.5 apg/ 3.2 stpg) and freshman guard Brianna Urena (10.3 ppg/2.5 apg/1.2 stpg) have joined her with double digit scoring averages while also contributing in other ways.
SAC hopes to add to their win column against some quality teams in this tournament. They will face off against Bakersfield on day one at 8:00 p.m.
