With three games left in the WSC South Schedule, the GCC Women's Basketball Team is peaking at the right time as Wednesday night's 79-34 win over visiting Bakersfield College was determined from start to finish. The Lady Vaqs raced out to a 21-6 first quarter lead and increased that to 40-15 at halftime to leave the Renegades playing catch up against the coinference leaders that improved to 10-1 with the win and 20-5 overall.

Eleven players took the court for Glendale and 10 scored, five in double figueres led by Megan Delgado with 13 points, 11 in the first quarter on three 3-pointers, Paola Gorgeiz had 12, and Jesni Cooper, Lysette Sepulveda and Alyssa Cartagena chipped in with 10 points each. Kaitlynn Key led the team with seven rebounds and Cherilyn Legaspi had six assists as GCC shots 46 percent from the field and 39 percent from thje 3-point line.

Glendale maintains a one game lead in conference play and has a 3 pm game at Citrus College Saturday Feb. 11.
