BC Baseball beat LA Pierce, 9-7

BC baseball team moves to 3-1 in WSC Conference play with a 9-7 win over visiting LA Pierce on Tuesday night at Gerry Collis field. The Renegades had 11 hits and drew 5 walks in overcoming a 6-3 deficit.

"We did enough offensively to climb back in " Coach Tim Painton said. "We were not very good defensively.  I don't know how many unearned runs there were, but the majority of the runs that Pierce scored were unearned."

Patrick Reiner went 4 for 5 with a double and three runs batted in and Brock Hallum knocked in three runs including the tying and go ahead runs in the fifth inning with a hard grounder up the middle.

BC starting pitcher Austin Toerner hurled seven solid innings.  The sophomore right-hander allowed three earned runs on six hits and two walks. He had five strike outs.

Walker Frayne pitched two scoreless innings to earn the save.

The team is back home on Thursday at 3pm against LA Mission.
