Luke Andrews and his batterymate Brock Hallum took control of the situation Saturday at LA Valley.

The Bakersfield College Baseball Team (5-4, 9-16) beat LA Valley (2-7, 3-23) 8-4 Saturday.

Luke Andrews (3-2) went the distance for the win, giving up just two earned runs while scattering six hits and a walk over nine innings. He struck out six, giving him 38 on the season, the second highest total in the state.

Andrews has been solid all season, but he hasn't always gotten the run support he needs. Today, he got all he needed and more thanks to an extra-base outburst led by a Brock Hallum two-run homer in the second.

"Hallum hit it pretty good," Coach Tim Painton said, "It's not a small ballpark."

Patrick Reynier was 2-5 including a double and two RBI, while Kamron Willman and Harley Lopez each contributed two hits a piece.

BC hosts LA Valley Tuesday at 3pm on Gerry Collis Field.
