Baseball Picks Up Opening Day Win

Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield College baseball team opened up the 2019 season hosting Moorpark College on opening day at Gerry Collis Field and came away with a 1-0 win.

Will Reyonlds' two-out double to left field in the third inning drove in Sage Voda from second to put the lone run of the game across the plate and give BC the 1-0 lead.

Frankie Villasenor got the start and win at pitcher for the Renegades. Villasenor collected 6 strikeouts, 2 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings of work. Chris Rodriguez pitched the 7th,Gabe Ulloa came in for the 8th and Nate Ortiz completed the save in the 9th.

With the win, BC now moves to 1-0 on the season.

The Renegades will stay at home to play Moorpark tomorrow, Saturday Jan. 26th, at 11am.
