Baseball Falls to LA Pierce at Home, 4-1

Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield College baseball team hosted LA Pierce on Thursday (4/4) afternoon in a conference match-up and snapped their six-game win streak with a 4-1 loss.

BC opened up the game scoring in the bottom of the first with a Zach Williams triple over the right fielders head that scored Hector Ruvalcaba from first. The Brahmas answered back to take the lead, scoring three runs in the top of the second. They added a fourth run in the top of the fourth to go ahead 4-1, which would be the final run of the game.

Nate Ortiz started the game on the mound for the Renegades and went six innings allowing eight hits with four strikeouts. Frankie Villasenor came in to work the final three innings allowing two hits with one strikeout.

With the loss, BC falls to 18-13 overall and 10-4 in conference.

The Renegades next travel to play at LA Pierce on Saturday (4/6) at noon.
