Baseball Grabs Two Wins Over Oxnard

Bakersfield, CA – Renegade Baseball hosted Oxnard for a home-opening doubleheader to the abbreviated Spring II season on Thursday and came away with two wins, 4-0 and 4-2.

In the first game, which only went seven innings, BC relied on a trio of runs in the fourth inning to take the lead and never look back on their way to the 4-0 victory. Getting the start and win for the Renegades on the mound was Eduardo Barraza (1-0) going all seven innings with six strikeouts. Matt Patton led the team with two hits and three RBI's.

In game two on the evening, the Renegades got two runs on the board early in the first and never looked back. They collected two more in the sixth to extend the lead, but the Condors were only able to put one across in the seventh to cut the lead, but were unable to do more. Kyle Langston (1-0) got the start and win on the bump, going five innings with three strikeouts.

With the victories, BC moves to 2-2 on the young season and will next travel to play at Cuesta on Wednesday (4/21) at 2:00pm before hosting Moorpark at Gerry Collis Field on Thursday (4/22) for a doubleheader at 3pm/5pm.
