The Bakersfield College Football Team (6-3, 2-2) ran up against a tough opponent and fate when Ventura (7-2, 4-0) came to town Saturday and dealt the Renegades 49-21. 

Ventura took advantage of two BC fumbles and jumped to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter. 

Divisions 1-bound quarterback Jake Luton completed 13 passes on 24 attempts for 271 yards and three touchdowns.

Dalton Gallis completed 15 passes on 23 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown, but also threw  a late interception.

Cesar De Leon was six of 13 for 57 yards and a touchdown in relief of Gallis. 

Wide reciever Jazz Thind hit the century mark for the first time at the collegiate level, gaining 100 yards on seven receptions for BC. 

Derrick Vickers scored two touchdowns, one through the air and one on the ground, and racked up 204 multi-purpose yards. 

The Renegades will close their season next Saturday at 1pm in Memorial Stadium when they host College of the Canyons (4-5, 2-2).
