The Bakersfield College Renegade football team didn't want to wait another minute to start winning football games Saturday night; they already endured a two-hour push back of kickoff time after team officials and physicians determined it would be safer for players and coaches alike in the face of record-setting temperatures and poor air quality from area wildfires.

But they ended up waiting all of about eight minutes into the first quarter to score on a 52 yard pass and catch from QB Cesar De Leon to Cam Roberson to get on the board.

BC would score again in the second quarter on a two yard Brandon Jones touchdown run to cap off a seven-play 95 yard scoring drive. Jones and De Leon alternated at the QB position Saturday night.

Jones would put BC on the board a third time with the help of sure-handed wideout Jakell Tomlin on 12 yard pass play with less than a minute to play in the first half, the final time the 'Gades would add to the final score of 21-6.
