BC Falls to the Golden West, 24-14

BAKERSFIELD, CA – In a departure from the last three times the two teams met in which each game was decided by two points or less, BC was on the short end of a 24-14 score as the Golden West Rustlers defeated BC in Saturday's afternoon contest played at Memorial Stadium.

Bakersfield's special teams were again at the top of the Renegade's game as punt returner sophomore Christopher Thompson accounted for both of BC's scores, returning two for touchdowns.

The Ridgeview High product first touchdown came from a 58-yard return at the end of the first quarter tying the game at seven. His second return came at the 1:17 mark of the final quarter with an electrifying 83-yard return.

On the defensive side of the stats sheet, linebacker Logan Bowers led the Renegades with 19 tackles (12 solo and 7 assists).

The Renegades will celebrate Oil and Agriculture Night at Memorial Stadium next Saturday night as the BC (1-2) battles Mt. SAC in a 6pm kickoff with gates opening at 5pm.
