Bakersfield College Men's Soccer played it's first home game in nearly 30 years Tuesday night at Memorial Stadium, but their fans will still have to wait for win number one, as BC tied West Hills-Lemoore 2-2.

Edwin Bernal put BC on the board with a goal in the first half of play, with Brian Nava following up not long after. But West Hills kept steady pressure in the second half and didn't let BC score again.

"We played really hard for 85 minutes, and for that five minutes (where West Hills scored) we just really lost focus," Coach Vayron Martinez said.

West Hills scored with less than two minutes remaining in the first half to pull within 2-1, and then tied the game by slipping BC's defense during what appeared to be a lull in attention.

"It was great to be under the lights, a lot of folks came out to see us, but I"m disappointed that we couldn't close out that first half; we literally let it slip through our hands. We are scoring, and that's great, but we've got to develop that winning mentality. That's what needs to change," Martinez said.

BC will have a chance to pick up their first home win of the season Tuesday, September 6th at 7p in Memorial Stadium.
