Renegades Win Big at Home

Renegades Win Big at Home

Bakersfield, CA – Forty-five minutes would be all that was needed for Bakersfield College men's soccer team to secure a win at home against conference opponents Glendale College. The Renegades defeated the Vaqueros, 5-0.

Not even two minutes into the beginning whistle, center midfielder Anthony Miron hustle forward to send the ball right in the center to get passed GC's goalkeeper. An early goal was not the lonely goal, as freshman Angel Sandoval managed to score a season high with the first hat trick of the season for the Renegades. Sandoval tallied a goal at 4:25, 13:40 and 19:25. Bakersfield kept possession from Glendale and rounded out the first half with another goal from freshman Daniel Nino at the 45th minute from the left side, which nearly was blocked from the Vaqueros.

Into the second half, Bakersfield held on defensively and kept the GC from scoring for the rest of the game.

With the hat trick, Sandoval scored his 5th goal while Miron did as well. Nino had his 4th goal of the season.

With the home victory, the Renegades now move to an overall record of 5-4-4 and 1-0-1 in conference. Up next, they will continue conference play and take on Citrus College on Friday, October 22nd at 4:00 pm at home.
