Bakersfield, CA - The Bakersfield College swimming program has announced the creation of the Bakersfield Elementary Swim Program. The program will last from September 9th through October 19th and is open for 1st-6th graders that are water safe. The six-week program costs $99 participants are able to register through bumblebeetickets.com. The fee covers meet entry, t-shirt, cap and a team photo.
The program will meet twice per week for one hour each practice. The weekly schedule will consist of:
Week 1 – Sign up/Orientation
Week 2 – Free
Week 3 – Back
Week 4 – Breast
Week 5 – Fly
Week 6 – Starts/Turns
A final meet will be held be hosted by the Bakersfield College Swim Team on October 19th at the BC Pool.

Private Swimming Lessons and Technique Training
Bakersfield College Swimming will also provide private swimming lessons and will match each participant with the appropriate instructor for their needs. Lessons will allow children to become water safe, provide a competitve advatage to a swimmer or help an adult learn/improve their stroke. All swimming needs can be addressed in a private lessons and are available for all ages and levels of swimming.
The cost for four, 30 minute lessons is $80. Registration is completed through bumblebeetickets.com. Once registered, lessons can be scheduled bu calling the BC pool at 661-395-4663. Lessons can be scheduled once a week for four weeks or twice a week for two weeks. Dates and times are provided on a first come, first serve basis and are as follows:
- Monday-Thursday: 4:30pm-7:30pm
- Saturday: 9:00am-11:00am
