Softball Rides Big 6th Inning To Victory

Bakersfield, CA – The Renegade Softball team bounced back from their opening day losses with a big 12-6 win over Santiago Canyon on Saturday afternoon at the Dean and Adah Gay Sports Complex.

On the day there was plenty of action on the base paths for the Renegades as they collected 11 hits.

BC got on the board early in the first and added to the lead in the next two innings before Santiago Canyon came alive to tie the game and take the lead for an inning. Coming into the 6th the game was tied at 6-6 at which point the Renegades offense exploded for six runs to take a commanding lead that Santiago Canyon could not overcome.

Collecting the win for BC was Arianna Gutierrez. She gave up zero runs on two hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one. Trinity Ybarra also threw one inning of relief. Sydney Barnes started the game allowing six hits over four and a third innings.

Alantis Rede led the Rengades at the plate going three for four (one single and two doubles) and scoring two runs.
