Bakersfield Advances to Round Two

Bakersfield, CA – Alyssa Miller sends Renegades on their way to a second round playoff game with a walk off home run in the final game to take the series 2-1.

In the first game, Bakersfield nabbed the lead late in the game with a 2-1 victory. BC scored first in the first inning of the day to get a single run from a sacraficed fly. El Camino tied the game in the third inning at 1-1 but it would be a solo homer from Shelby Buchanan to keep the Renegades in the series.

In the second game, the second inning would be the insurance lead they needed to give BC the confidence to continue keep pushing to take the series. The Renegades put up five runs in the second on its way to a 9-1 victory. Pitcher Talia Nielson broke the school record after striking out six in the final with a season high of 290 strikouts.

Bakersfield tallied eight hits in the third game. Kady Smith, Rylee Price and Miller each had multiple hits.

The Gades will continue on their State journey playing the number one seed Mt. SAC in Walnut Grove next weekend starting Friday, May 13th. More information will be available soon.
