Women's Basketball Takes Tough Conference Loss to Glendale

Bakersfield, CA – The Renegade Women's Basketball team hosted Glendale College on Wednesday night at the Gil Bishop Sports Center and came away with a though loss, 66-58.

The Renegades started off the scoring grabbing a bucket shortly after tip, but then the Vaqueros went on a 10-0 run to pull in front. BC came back to take the lead 26-25 after an Alyssa Gonzalez three. Glendale then pulled away and rode a 9-1 run into the half to lead, 41-33.

BC came back to claim the lead with a Dasia Wandick bucket in the paint at 46-44 with 2:45 left in the third and carried the lead into the quarter break. The Vaqueros would endure the BC push and reclaim the lead on a 10-2 run to start the fourth quarter and never look back to claim the victory.

Alyssa Gonzalez led the team in scoring with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Dasia Wandick added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists while Janaye Herron chipped in with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

They now move to 1-2 in conference play and 7-10 overall. Up next, they will play at Antelope Valley Glendale this Saturday (1/18) at 5:00pm.
