Women's Basketball Falls to Santa Monica, 68-65

Bakersfield, CA – The Renegade Women's Basketball team, wearing pink uniforms to honor breast cancer awareness, hosted Santa Monica on Saturday afternoon at the Gil Bishop Sports Center and came away with a tough 68-65 loss.

Throughout the first half the Renegades controlled the tempo and maintained the lead, but the Corsairs came back and with three minutes left until the break, were able to drain a three to take a two-point advantage. BC was able to fight back and take the lead into halftime, 34-32.

Santa Monica opened the second half on a run and took as much as a nine point lead at times in the third quarter. The Renegades fought back and brought the game to within two points, but were unable to take the lead back and fell to the visiting Corsairs.

Leading the Renegades offensively was Brianna Green scoring a season high 28 points along with seven rebounds. Dasia Wandick recorded another double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds.
