Renegades Dominate in Victory over the Cougars

Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield College women's basketball team hosted the Taft College Cougars for a Saturday afternoon game. The Renegades stayed undefeated after a major victory over the Taft, 89-44.

The Cougars jumped on the board first and held onto that lead for about two full minutes until Bakersfield could find the hole with a three-pointer from guard Elise Enriquez. Fortunately, for the Renegades it would be the only time they trail in the game. The first quarter stayed closed before BC took a 10-point lead and then ran away with the rest of the half, 46-25. Enriquez led the team going three for five in three-pointers.

Into the second half and Bakersfield continued to dominate over the Cougars. Taft managed to score 19 more points, but that's all Bakersfield would allow them to score in the second half.

Enrinquez ended the contest as the top scorer of the game with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists. Freshman Kathleen Rodriguez chipped away 12 points while Julie Hernandez assisted the team with 12 rebounds. As a team BC shot 63% from the free throw line and scored 44 points from the bench.

Next up, the Renegades will head out for the road to play in the Santa Ana Tournament December2nd to the 4th. They will return home on Friday, December 10th.
