BC Remains Undefeated at Home

BAKERSFIELD, CA- The Bakersfield College women's basketball team hosted Antelope Valley at home on Saturday evening after a tough road game on Wednesday at Glendale, 67-59.

The Marauders came out of the gate quick, jumping ahead in the first quarter by 4. The Renegades worked their way back to even the ball game and eventually take a hold of the second quarter leading by 8. BC held their lead going into halftime, 30-26.

Both teams battled in the second half, tying the game four times before the Renegades went up by five points at the end of the third quarter, 50-45. Fortunately for Bakersfield, Antelope Valley was never able to take back their lead and ultimately BC pull out the victory.

Leading the Renegades was Julie Hernandez with 7 points while teammate Kathleen Rodrigues, after returning back to the court for an injury break, came out with 6 points and a whopping 17 rebounds.

With the win, the Renegades improve to 14-2 on the season and remain undefeated at home. Bakersfield will play their next game on Saturday, Jan. 22nd at 5:00pm at home and take on LA Valley.
