Bakersfield College Wrestling clinched a share of the Southern California Wrestling Association Southeast Conference title after a scoring error was corrected Monday, giving them the team win at last weekend's SCWA SE Conference Championship Tournament.

"We weren't given points for some forfeits, so that pushed us past West Hills for the tournament win," Coach Bret Clark said, "But because we lost to them in dual meet action during the season, we both ended up with nine points and thus we are co-champions."

Clark said the dual meet loss to West Hills, the other half of the championship, was costlly.

"Because the rules put as much emphasis on the dual portion as we do the tournament for determining the champion of hte conference, that ended up biting us," Clark said of BC's dual loss to West Hills,"This is why dual meets are still so critical to wrestling, it's the team aspect of what can be a very individual sport."

BC will compete this weekend in "The Brawl" at East Los Angeles College.
