Former BC Wrestler Keithen Estrada Unexpectedly Passes Away

Bakersfield, CA – Bakersfield College Athletics is deeply saddened to share the unexpected passing of former standout Renegade wrestler Keithen Estrada earlier this morning. He was 21.

Estrada wrestled for BC in the 2018 and 2019 seasons and was a California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) state placer both years. In 2018 he placed 7th in the 125 lb. weight class and again in 2019 he took 7th in the 125 lb weight class.

  

"It was a tragedy today. We lost a good young man," said BC head wrestling coach Brett Clark. "First thing that comes to mind is his infectious smile, his great personality. He had a bright future ahead of him and we're going to miss him."

"I am greatly saddened by the loss of one of our BC wrestling family members, Keithen Estrada," said BC wrestling co-head coach Marcos Austin. "Keithen was an absolute joy to be around on and off the mat. His charisma and lightheartedness was often the reason our teams gelled. He was a leader and a standout athlete. He will be missed greatly. The Bakersfield College Wrestling program would like to extend our condolences to Keithen's family."

Keithen is survived by his Mom (Angel Mcmahan), Dad (Marc Estrada), two sisters (Ariah Russel & Nyle Estrada), one brother (Dangelo Estrada) and a niece (Amaya Estrada).
