BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College men's wrestling program would like to announce the commitment of sophomore Carlos Martinez to Simpson University in Reddings, California.
Martinez will continue her collegiate athletic career on the wrestling team for the Red Hawks. Simpson University is an NAIA school that competes in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The sophomore was a 2-year starter for Bakersfield College. He competed at 141 lbs and 157 lbs in his second year. Carlos is a 2022 CCCAA State Championship qualifier.
"Carlos Martinez is a huge asset to Bakersfield College Wrestling, his mental toughness and willingness to compete in all situations allowed Carlos to grow immensely in our sport of wrestling. As Carlos moves forward his presence in our wrestling room will be greatly missed," said head coach Marcos Austin.
Bakersfield College Athletics is excited to watch Carlos continue to be an excellent athlete for Simpson University.
