BC WOMEN'S SOCCER RUNS OUT OF GAS AGAINST HARTNELL

The Bakersfield College Women's Soccer team (3-2-2) lost a 5-4 heartbreaker to Hartnell (1-5) , but it wasn't for lack of trying.

"What happened was we played a really hard game at six thirty last night, and then had to play a tough game at noon today," Coach Scott Dameron said in reference to BC's dramatic 3-3 tie against Cabrillo College the night before, "I think we were tired at the beginning of the game, and we weren't doing awful but we were making those 'tired mistakes', and then we were down 3-0 early."
Dameron was pleased at how BC Soccer repsonded to falling in an early hole.
"It was the kid of game where we had to play aggressive to make things happen, and pretty soon it was 3-1, then 3-2, but then they made it 4-2, Then we made it 4-3... and then they stretched it to 5-3 until Odalys Espinoza scored her second goal to make it 5-4," Dameron said with more than a hint of exhaustion.
BC got a couple more looks at the goal but couldn't find the equalizer.
Celeste Martinez scored the first goal for BC, while Espinoza scored goals 2 and 4, (goal 3 was an "own goal" forced by defensive pressure by Estefana Flores).
Bakersfield College Women's Soccer has two more away games before returning home on  September 27th at 7pm to host West LA.
