Bakersfield, CA – The Renegade Women's Soccer team hosted College of the Sequoias in their 2019 home opener at the BC Soccer Field and came away with a win, 1-0.
Throughout the first half both teams played strong defensively with no goals being scored.
In the 27th minute the Renegades came together for a beautiful play across the Sequoias box, but were unable to convert.
It wasn't until the 75th minute that BC took the first goal on a pass that Emily Lostetter converted into the right side of the COS goal to go up, 1-0. At the final whistle the score became final.
Renegade goalkeeper Aurora Fernandez preserved the shutout making a number of saves to keep Sequoias out of the goal.
With the home opener victory, the Renegades now move to an overall record of 1-2. Up next, they will travel to play at Fresno City on Tuesday, September at 5:00pm.
