BAKERSFIELD, CA- Bakersfield College women's track and field assistant coach, Houston Courtney, was named assistant women's track and field coach of the year. 

Courtney had a very successful season after sending 10 women to SoCals Championships and eight to State with two females placing fourth to become CCCAA All-Americans. 

Zaila Clark, was his most successful field athlete after coming back from a non-competing covid season and having a child during the break. Clark was the 2022 SoCal Championship winner in the triple jump. Assistant coach Houston spent many hours after practice getting Clark where she needed to be a force to compete again.
