Haney Signs with Fresno State

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College women's track and field program would like to announce the commitment of sophomore Tearra Haney to Fresno State University in Fresno, California.

Haney will continue her collegiate athletic career on the track and field team for the Bulldogs. She will join teammates Rain Gomez and Crystal Raya at Fresno, a Division I school that competes in the Mountain West Conference.

The sophomore has had a very successful year. A thrower leads the state in the discus by 9 feet, and the javelin by 3 feet. She is also ranked 7th in the state in the shot and has the A standard and 10th in the state in the hammer. Currently leads the conference in all four events. Haney qualified for State in all four events and is the SoCal Championship in the javelin. She is now the new Bakersfield College record holder in the discus throw (a record that has not been broken since 2001). During her freshman year, Haney qualified for State last year in the discus, javelin, and shot put and placed 12th in the shot put.

Bakersfield College Athletics is excited to watch Tearra continue to be an excellent athlete for Fresno State.
