The Bakersfield College Volleyball team opened their 2016 season with a 3-0 win over Chaffey College and a 3-1 win over Rio Hondo in day one of the LA Pierce Tournament Friday. 

"I am very pleased with the outcome of our two matches, I think the objective of every match is to win. Results matter, but along with that, we have other standards we are trying to achieve. I thought we were really prepared in some areas, but had to adapt and adjust in other areas." 

"I think it's the first time I've used all 15 players in the first two matches of the season. I honestly don't know if that has ever happened in my tenure here. It shows we have a balanced roster. I have confidence putting every kid into the game to contribute. So that's very good."

The Lady Gades will resume play Saturday at 1pm against Mira Costa, and 6:30p against either Pierce or Santa Barbara.
