The Bakersfield College Volleyball team (8-8) started the 7th Annual Pierce Brahma Tournament with a 3-0 loss to Moorpark (8-4), but as his Coach Carl Ferreira's way, they steadily improved over the course of the weekend.

"Really, we've played 16 matches this season, and we've played one where I felt we weren't mentally sharp," Coach Ferreira said, "And not that we've won every match, but we've been mindful about our progress. And the good news is we get to play Moorpark this Friday at home, and that doesn't happen often. And it's happened to us a couple of times coincidentally this season, the change to avenge. We got em' here, and they are a pretty good team, and I anticipate us being mentally sharp this time."

BC Volleyball got sharp right away at Pierce following the loss the to Moorpark. They narrowly lost to Butte College (8-7) by a score of 3-2, before beating West LA (2-9) in a 3-0 shutout victory.
