Renegades Sweep Sequoias with Back-to-Back Wins

BAKERSFIELD, CA- The Bakersfield College baseball team completed a two-game sweep of Sequoias this week, earning an 8–6 road victory on Tuesday before returning home to Gerry Collis Field for another 8–2 win on Thursday.

In the series opener at Sequoias, the Renegades used a balanced offensive attack and timely pitching to pull out the 8–6 win. Bakersfield finished with 15 hits, led by Landon McDonald, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBIs, including a double and a home run. Nick Martin scored three runs, while Jordan Brito added three hits and an RBI from the leadoff spot. Santiago Blanco and Liam O'Reilly also drove in runs as Bakersfield plated multiple runs in the third, seventh, and ninth innings.

On the mound, Logan Judd struck out five over four innings, and Wyatt Ashe earned the win with a scoreless eighth inning. Kaleb Pinedo closed the door in the ninth to secure the save as the Renegades held off a late Sequoias push.

Bakersfield carried the momentum into Thursday's home matchup, once again scoring eight runs—this time backed by strong pitching and defense. Jordan Mora powered the offense with a four-RBI performance, highlighted by a three-run home run, while Landon McDonald collected three hits and scored twice. Nick Martin added a triple, and Tryce Spainhoward delivered an RBI double as the Renegades built an early lead.

Chance Gerecke picked up the win on the mound, allowing just two runs (one earned) over five innings with five strikeouts. Jacob Berumen and Tony Fabian combined for four scoreless innings in relief to seal the 8–2 victory.

With the sweep, Bakersfield continued its strong start to the season with a 4-0 record. They will get right back at it tomorrow, traveling to Modesto for a single game.
