BAKERSFIELD, CA - Bakersfield College is proud to announce that ten standout Renegade football players from the 2024-25 roster have committed to four-year universities to continue their academic and athletic careers.
Below is a look at each transfer and their accomplishments:
Jalen Hankins – Colorado Mesa University
A do-it-all offensive weapon, Hankins led BC in rushing (557 yards, 10 TDs) and added 251 receiving yards in 2024. He also contributed on special teams, totaling 71 kick return yards.
Will Kanavalou – Southern Oregon University
A force up front, Kanavalou started all 11 games and recorded 79 total tackles and 11.5 tackles for loss, while also adding an interception, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.
Aaron Martinez – Stephen F. Austin University
One of the Renegades' most versatile players, Martinez posted 84 total tackles, six tackles for loss, and an interception. He also contributed offensively and on special teams in key situations.
Jalen Richmond – Murray State University
A consistent deep threat, Richmond hauled in 57 catches for 846 yards and eight touchdowns in 18 games, averaging 47 yards per game and 14.8 yards per catch.
David Smith – Sul Ross State University
A bruising back with breakaway ability, Smith rushed for 417 yards and six touchdowns on just 63 carries (6.6 avg). He also added two receptions out of the backfield.
Devon Sundgren – Chadron State College
Sundgren had a 156-yard total, averaging 17.3 yards per game. He finished with four touchdowns.
Cleveland Tolbert – Eastern Kentucky University
A reliable receiving target, Tolbert caught 24 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns. Known for his clutch hands and crisp route running, he averaged 31.8 yards per game.
Titus Yepez – Mercyhurst University
Yepez was a steady leader in the locker room and contributed across multiple special teams units. His discipline, preparation, and selflessness made him an invaluable teammate.
Erik Atkins – University of Hawai'i
A gifted athlete with big-play potential, Atkins will continue his career at the Division I level in the Mountain West Conference. His athleticism and explosiveness were evident every time he took the field.
Silas Akins – Simpson University
A reliable contributor, Akins served as a consistent piece of the offense across two seasons.
