Bakersfield Holds Off Glendale for 75–70 Home Win

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield men's basketball team picked up a key conference victory Saturday afternoon, edging Glendale 75–70 at the Renegade Athletic Center.

The Renegades led by one at halftime and used a strong second-half effort to secure the win, improving to 10–8 overall and 2–2 in conference play. Bakersfield capitalized on second-chance opportunities, outscoring Glendale 26–11 in that category while winning the rebounding battle 45–29.

Markell Brooks led the way for Bakersfield with a double-double, finishing with 19 points and 11 rebounds, including six offensive boards. Brooks also added three blocks in an all-around performance. Damari Davis provided a spark offensively, scoring 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting, while James Miller added 14 points and four assists off the bench.

Zach Garnett chipped in 10 points, and the Renegades received balanced contributions throughout the lineup to hold off a late Glendale push.

The Renegades will head out for a couple of road games before returning home next Wednesday, January 28th.
