Next Level Renegades: Men's Soccer

Bakersfield College men's soccer proudly honors five outstanding athletes who are moving on to the next level: Victor Melendez, Elijah Espinoza, Hugo Viramontes, Jonathan Juarez, and Jordee Magana. Each has left their mark on the program with leadership, talent, and dedication.

Victor Melendez, a two-year starter in goal, was a defensive anchor across 42 appearances. He totaled 136 saves, with a 1.73 goals-against average and a .660 save percentage, commanding the backfield with poise and experience.

Elijah Espinoza brought consistency to the back line with 45 games played and 41 starts, contributing 1 goal and five assists. His defensive awareness and passing ability helped shape a strong foundation for the Renegade defense.

Hugo Viramontes offered offensive spark from defense, starting all 44 matches. He tallied six goals, three assists, and two game-winning goals, showing sharp instincts and a reliable presence on both ends of the pitch.

Jonathan Juarez, another defensive mainstay, played in 40 games, starting 36. Known for his vision and passing, Juarez recorded nine assists across two seasons and was a key transitional player from the back to the midfield.

Jordee Magana electrified the attack, finishing with 25 goals and six assists in 45 appearances. A dynamic forward, Magana notched eight game-winning goals, with a career .250 shot percentage and 62 shots on goal, establishing himself as one of the program's most prolific scorers.

Juarez and Magana will be sporting blue for their Warriors together at Jessup University in Rocklin, California. The Warriors are a Division II school that competes in the Pacific West Conference. Viramontes will get the pleasure of playing against his former teammates at Concordia University Irvine, which also competes in the PAC West Conference. 

Espinoza will also compete at the Division II level at Cal Poly Humboldt University. The Lumberjacks compete in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Melendez will be moving further north to compete at a NAIA school, Eastern Oregon University, where he will proudly represent the Mountaineers.
