Renegades Power Past LA Harbor with Second-Half Surge

WILMINGTON, CA - The Bakersfield College men's soccer team used a dominant second-half performance to earn a 3-1 road victory over LA Harbor on Friday, September 26.

After a scoreless first half, the Renegades broke through in the 66th minute when freshman Cyril Langevine finished off a setup from sophomore Luis Gil and freshman Andrew Nava to put BC in front. Sophomore Jonathan Garcia extended the lead in the 74th minute, capitalizing on assists from freshman Alejandro Alvarez and Langevine.

LA Harbor responded in the 80th minute to cut the deficit in half, but Bakersfield quickly sealed the result just five minutes later. Freshman Joshua Martinez tallied the final goal in the 85th minute off an assist from Anthony Contreras to secure the 3-1 win.

Goalkeeper Aaden Zamora made a key save in the first half before giving way to Brian Ruvalcaba, who helped hold the Seahawks in the final 45 minutes.

With the victory, BC moved to 4-2-3 on the season and will travel to Santa Rosa for a road match on Tuesday, September 30th.
