BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College men's soccer team powered to a 3–1 home victory over Pasadena City College on Friday evening, fueled by a dominant performance from freshman forward Alejandro Alvarez, who netted all three goals for the Renegades.
Alvarez wasted no time putting Bakersfield on the board, scoring just three minutes into the match off a setup from sophomore Luis Gil. BC extended their lead midway through the first half when Alvarez finished again, this time assisted by freshman Andrew Orozco and sophomore Kaleb Carrasco, giving Bakersfield a 2–0 advantage at the break.
In the second half, Alvarez completed his hat trick in the 51st minute, converting another feed from Gil to push the lead to 3–0. Pasadena City managed a late goal in the 88th minute, but Bakersfield's defense and goalkeeper Aaden Zamora held firm. Zamora recorded six saves in the win.
With the victory, BC moves to 5-3-3 on the season. Up next, the Renegades will travel to Allan Hancock on Tuesday, October 7th.
