BAKERSFIELD, CA - It took nearly the full 90 minutes, but Bakersfield delivered when it mattered most, securing a 1–0 victory over Antelope Valley on Friday night and clinching a share of the Western State Conference Championship with Santa Monica College.
With the match locked in a scoreless battle and tension rising inside the final five minutes, Andrew Nava broke through in the 85th minute. Nava buried the game-winner off a sharp sequence set up by Alejandro Alvarez and Luis Gil, sending the Renegades' sideline into celebration.
While the Renegades spent much of the match in the attacking half, goalkeeper Aaden Zamora remained sharp when called upon, recording one save to secure the clean sheet.
With the win, Bakersfield secures its place as Co-Western State Conference Champions, capping off a strong conference run, 8-1-1.
The Renegades now shift focus toward postseason play.
