Renegades Men’s Tennis Captures Conference Title, Set to Host 3C2A SoCal Regional Opener

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BAKERSFIELD, CA. -The Bakersfield College men's tennis team has made program history, capturing the 2026 Western State Conference Championship and earning the opportunity to host the opening round of the postseason.

The Renegades will welcome Orange Coast College in the 3C2A Southern California Regional First Round on campus at the BC Tennis Courts. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., with doubles play beginning the match, followed by singles competition.

The postseason format requires a team to secure five out of nine total matches to advance, placing a premium on strong starts in doubles and depth throughout the singles lineup.

Bakersfield enters the regional round with momentum after a standout conference season that resulted in the program's first-ever conference championship. The team's consistency and depth have positioned them as a strong contender as they look to continue their postseason run.

Looking ahead, hosting opportunities for the second round, the 3C2A SoCal Regional Semifinals, will depend on results around the region. If neighboring conference opponent Glendale advances, Bakersfield could remain at home. However, if Glendale falls in the opening round, the Renegades will travel to Riverside for the next matchup, scheduled for Tuesday, April 14.

Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Renegades as they begin their pursuit of a regional title.
