Renegades Post Strong Showing at WSC Preview

VENTURA, CA - The Bakersfield College men's track and field put together an impressive meet, highlighted by multiple event wins and personal best performances.

Jacob Quezada led the way with victories in both the 800m (2:01.07) and 1500m (4:17.61), while Edgar Gil placed third in both events. Orlando Zuniga added another win in the 400m hurdles (1:02.34, PB) and a fifth-place finish in the 400m, where Aiden Nicholson took third.

In the sprints, Angel Corona (5th, PB) led Bakersfield in the 100m, while Nicholson (PB), Brogen SauerThor Barnes, and Joaquin Garcia highlighted the 200m group.

The 4x400 relay team placed second, with the 4x100 finishing fifth.

In the field events, Bakersfield dominated the throws. Mason Level won the hammer, leading a 1-5 team sweep, while Daniel Olvera won the discus. Israel Rivera (2nd), Landon Monreal (4th), and Alexander Rosas (5th) paced the shot put.

In the jumps, Kai Wilkins won the high jump (PB), Talen Monaco placed second in pole vault (PB), Samiar Grady won the triple jump, and Christian McCoy Perez took third in the long jump. Cooper Pardue added a win in the javelin (PB).

The Renegades will compete next at the Dave Shannon Invite on Saturday, March 28th.
