Renegades Drop Doubleheader to Cypress on the Road

CYPRESS, CA - The Bakersfield College softball team came up short in both games of a conference doubleheader at Cypress on Wednesday, falling 5-2 in game one and 7-3 in game two.

In the opener, the Renegades struck early with single runs in the first and second innings. Lexi Rolin led the way with a triple and a run scored, while Emily Hernandez added a strong performance at the plate with two doubles. Isabella Harrison drove in a run as Bakersfield held an early lead, but Cypress responded with timely hitting, including a three-run fifth inning to pull away.

In the circle, Cassidy Torres went the distance, allowing six hits and five runs (four earned) while keeping Bakersfield within reach throughout the game.

Game two saw Bakersfield put together a big third inning, scoring all three of their runs. Alexia Marquez led the offense with a 3-for-4 performance and two RBIs, while Lexi Rolin and Isabella Harrison each added runs scored.
