SANTA CLARITA, CA - Bakersfield was unable to generate offense on the road Thursday, falling 3-0 to Canyons.
The Renegades were limited to just three hits on the day, with Alexia Martinez, Emily Hernandez, and Isabella Harrison each recording one. Despite keeping the game scoreless through five innings, Bakersfield couldn't capitalize on limited opportunities at the plate.
In the circle, Alexia Martinez turned in a solid outing, allowing just one earned run over 5.2 innings while striking out two. However, Canyons broke through with three runs in the sixth inning to secure the win.
Bakersfield's defense and pitching kept things close early, but the late rally by Canyons and lack of run support proved to be the difference.
